1. Set Your Budget

Before diving into the fun details, it’s crucial to establish a budget. Determine how much you can realistically spend on your wedding. Consider all potential expenses, including venue, catering, attire, decorations, photography, and entertainment. Once you have a clear idea of your budget, prioritize your spending according to what matters most to you as a couple.

2. Choose a Date and Venue

Next, select a wedding date. Consider factors like season, guest availability, and any significant dates in your relationship. Once you have a date in mind, start looking for venues that fit your vision and budget. If you need a starter list to get the ball rolling, we have a list of vendors who we recommend.

3. Create Your Guest List

Drafting a guest list is a crucial step that will influence many of your decisions moving forward. Start by making a list of everyone you want to invite, then categorize them into must-haves, friends, and acquaintances. This will help you gauge the size of your wedding and impact your venue choice and catering needs.

Tip: Keep communication open with your partner and families to avoid misunderstandings about who should be invited.

4. Select Your Wedding Party

Now it’s time to choose your wedding party! Think about who you want to stand by your side on your big day. Consider the dynamics and relationships you have with each person. Once you've selected your bridal party, share the news with them and discuss any expectations, such as planning duties and attire.

Tip: Be considerate of the costs associated with being in the wedding party and ensure your choices are respectful of everyone's budget and availability.

5. Start Researching Vendors

With the date, venue, and guest list in hand, you can start researching vendors. This includes caterers, photographers, florists, and entertainment. We have plenty of recommendations for vendors, but you can also gather information from friends or online reviews.

6. Create a Mood Board

A mood board is an invaluable tool for visualizing the style and feel of your wedding. This step allows you to gather inspiration and clearly communicate your vision. Start by collecting images, colors, and textures that resonate with you as a couple. Think about everything from flowers and dresses to table settings and venue decor. Try not to overthink, with the ton of options and to do lists, forgetting something does happen, but no worries we will help in bringing it all together.
